It has always made sense to her to photograph children in their own environment, where they are comfortable and happy in their surrounds. The studio can be a very sterile place and has always given her the feeling that the child is meant to perform for the camera.
That is why she have chosen to photograph children on location using natural light. Using black and white film combined with simple composition to capture the true nature of the child. Photographing the interaction between child and parents rather than having them pose.
It is her hope that it is an unstressed and happy child who goes away with a positive memory of having his or her picture taken.
